What does SYMBIS stand for?
SYMBIS stands for Saving Your Marriage Before It starts. It was founded by psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist Drs Les and Leslie Parrot.
Do we have to be engaged?
No. You don't have to be engaged. You just have to be ready to begin to discuss what it will take for you and your partner to have a thriving marriage.
Why do we need 5 sessions?
The results of the SYMBIS assessment are very detailed and require time to unpack the results as well as to provide you with tools that are necessary to ensure that you can be prepared for marriage?
What if we are already married, can we still take this course?
Yes, you don't have to be engaged. However, if you are married it's best if you are in your early stages of marriage so that we can focus on tools necessary to create success. Sometimes couples that have been married for a long time have already created positive or negative social norms that can impact how they view their relationship and marriage. We do not recommend signing up if you have been married for more than 2 years.
Who will be our coach?
Your coach will be Sheyna L. Heard. Sheyna is a certified SYMIS Facilitator, pastor, coach, speaker and trainer. She has had more than 20 years experience in pre-marital and marital counseling and coaching.
